I’m a New Zealand native who left my home to explore the world thoroughly at my own accord. Growing up in the scenically beautiful Rotorua I’m just a little obsessed with the magic of nature so getting lost in the rain forest of an exotic country is what I call fun!
My first real travel experience was in 2013 with a trip to Thailand. Where in the over crowed streets of Bangkok I fell in love with the adrenaline of travel. For a month I wandered the country North to South exploring and trying everything my new playground had to offer. It was during this trip the seed of travel was planted. At the end of my trip, I went home and dreamed of the nomad life obsessing over the adventures of others, but always putting my travel dreams in the too hard to do basket.
In 2015 after three years of studying I graduated university with a degree in Communications. With my assigned future firm in my hands I realized I wasn’t ready to commit to ‘office’ life. So I did what any sane person would and called it quits on conventional and brought a one way ticket to the nomad trail. Ive been traveling for over seven months now! My adventure has no itinerary, no backup plan and no end date in sight! As long as I’m happy I’ll call the road my home.
Lifewithaleisha is a blog dedicated to helping lost travelers find the nomad trail and realize their travel dreams. My goal is to show people it is possible to travel without a lot of money or experience, by offering my tried and tested tips on how to travel within a budget and get the most out of the countries you are in.
